

The Santa Fe Trail, which links Dallas's most significant natural resource, White Rock Lake, with its most impressive historical resources, Fair Park and Deep Ellum, is underway!
The hike and bike path meanders from the country's largest urban lake alongside seldom seen White Rock Creek. After you experience this oasis of water, birds and fauna, you will then hit historic Tenison golf course. Next, the trail turns and points southwest as you approach old east Dallas neighborhoods including Gastonwood / Coronado Hills and the Hollywood / Santa Monica Conservation District. Then, it is a straight shot past Woodrow Wilson High School and the Mount Auburn neighborhood until the trail culminates near the art galleries, dining and landmark buildings located in Deep Ellum and Fair Park.
Friends of Santa Fe Trail will work to provide enhanced connectivity and amenities for the trail, and eventually assist the Parks Department in their maintenance efforts. FoSFT will also promote use of the trail for community events and encourage its use as alternate transportation. Our current efforts are focused on:
